NEVADANS FOR THE COMMON GOOD

Nevadans for the common good

Nevadans for the Common Good educates and trains citizens to participate in public, life, and civic engagement. Diverse institutions work together to build relationships, to find common ground on issues, and act in nonpartisan ways to effect change that strengthens family and community. The goal is to work in solidarity across race, class, and religion lines to build relational power for collective action to pursue justice and the common good.
Issues for which NCG has successfully advocated include: Payday Lending Data Base to protect consumers is now law; $40 Million affordable housing tax credit is now in place; Meals on wheels received increased funding and eliminated the waiting list; Fighting Sex Trafficking as a driving force to effect legislation. Boulder City now has in place a Community Resource Social Worker as a result of partnership with Boulder City Hospital, The City Council and NCG.
St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church is a Boulder City NCG Cluster member institute.
